The County of Southampton (shortened to Hampshire) is a shire on the south coast of Great Britain, bordered by Berkshire to the north, Surrey and Sussex to the east, and Wiltshire and Dorset to the west. The main body of the county is separated from the Isle of Wight by the Solent and Spithead.
